The album explores themes of divinity, femininity, tradition vs modernity, and Mediterranean identity through experimental flamenco and avant-garde production. The title reflects enlightenment, luxury, and radiance—core themes throughout the 15-track project.
LUX was released on Nov 7, 2025 via Columbia Records and Sony Music Entertainment. The album follows her 2022 Grammy-winning project MOTOMAMI and represents her most experimental and multilingual work to date.
LUX features an impressive roster of collaborators: Björk and Yves Tumor (on "Berghain"), Yahritza Y Su Esencia (on "La Perla"), Estrella Morente and Sílvia Pérez Cruz (on "La Rumba del Perdón"), and Carminho (on "Memória"). The album also features spoken word from Patti Smith and orchestral arrangements from the London Symphony Orchestra.
LUX is ROSALÍA's most multilingual album, featuring songs in Spanish (Castilian), Catalan, Portuguese, Italian, and English. This linguistic diversity reflects her Mediterranean heritage and global artistic vision, with tracks like "Berghain" in English and "Memória" in Portuguese showcasing her versatility.
LUX contains 15 tracks spanning approximately 58 minutes. The album blends experimental flamenco, avant-garde pop, orchestral arrangements, and electronic production, creating ROSALÍA's most ambitious sonic landscape to date.
"Berghain" is named after the legendary Berlin techno club and represents a collision of electronic experimentalism and raw emotion. Featuring Björk and Yves Tumor, the track explores themes of hedonism, spiritual ecstasy, and artistic transcendence through industrial soundscapes and haunting vocals.
All 15 tracks from LUX have complete English translations available on Verseminds. Each song page includes line-by-line translations, cultural context, and explanations of Spanish/Catalan/Portuguese idioms to help English-speaking fans understand ROSALÍA's poetic lyricism.
Pitchfork gave LUX an 8.6/10, praising ROSALÍA's "fearless experimentalism" and "breathtaking fusion of traditional flamenco with avant-garde electronic production." The review highlighted "Berghain," "Magnolias," and "La Rumba del Perdón" as standout tracks.
